Are you struggling with difficulties related to trauma, grief, anxiety, or major life changes? Perhaps you’ve been trying to deal with some emotional struggles such as shame or self-criticism for many years. Life can be tough, and we all might find ourselves in situations that cause us emotional struggle. We often have resources that help us manage difficulty, such as the support of family and friends, but we might need additional support from a professional who is trained and committed to helping us learn coping strategies.
Decades of research and clinical practice shows that cultivating qualities such as mindfulness, compassion and values-based living can help people to manage psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, stress or the impacts of trauma. Therapy can also enable us to live more fully alongside the impacts of health conditions or treatment. It can support us to connect with our own inner wisdom, learn to deal skilfully with problems and move towards greater well-being.
My name is Dr Emma Bishop and I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire. I offer evidence-based psychological therapy, for adults, grounded in mindfulness and compassion-based approaches to help with a range of psychological and emotional needs. My approach is warm and non-judgemental, and I work hard to create a safe space for people seeking therapy to share their experiences and find ways to cope.
